fs smiths (with Mat Lavigne)
  • 1) Be sure the surface of the obstacle is waxed because all your weight will be grinding on your kingpin.
  • 2) Approach the obstacle at your own speed but faster is always better for smiths.
  • 3) Place your back foot pointing out and diagonaly on the tail and your front foot should be placed right under the bolts.
  • 4) Ollie, turn 45 degrees, lock in (make sure your front wheels are off the obstacle)
  • 5) Once grinding, apply pressure on the tail with little pressure on the nose to keep everything in place.
  • 6) To pop out, apply preesure on the tail like a little ollie (like your hopping out) and even out in the air.
  • Note: Smiths are a power trick and require finesse, don't get discouraged.

switch 360 flips (with Mat Lavigne)
  • 1) It's better to learn switch varial kickflips and switch bs bigspins before attempting this trick.
  • 2) Tweak your front foot roughly in the middle of your board and your back foot on the tip of the tail with your heel hanging off just a little.
  • 3) Pop your tail down hard as if you were trying to 360 shuv while flicking your front foot in a varial flip motion.
  • 4) Follow through with your front foot while bringing your back foot out to catch the trick while it's fliping.
  • 5) Spread you feet to land on the bolts, bring it down and be sur to balance your weight.

3 flips (with Dustin O'Donnell)
  • 1) First off to learn tres, get your kickflips and 360 shoves down.
  • 2) Start by just spinning the full thing and keeping it in front of you.
  • 3) Once you have the spin, you just have to work on the landing, go for the spin but scoop as if going for a pressure flip and jump with it. While you scoop down with your back foot, kick striaght up, as if you were doing a kickflip but harder and pull it back when the board starts to flip.
  • 4)watch the board in the air to make sure it stays with you, if you board is travelling to the side, try to jump more that way when you do them.
  • 5)For a while don't be mad if you land 270s. you will get tres eventually, they take lots of time to learn and get the full thing.
  • 6)That is my best description on how to do tres, but really I find them easier to do yourself.

Hardflips (with Matt Casey)
  • 1) First ride at a comfortable speed.
  • 2) Put your front foot where its most comfortable because hardflips are a back foot trick.

  • 4) Pop your tail straight down and move your front foot out of the way.

  • 7) Land and ride away smooth.
